Use Your Illusion

I was browsing Polyvore just now and I saw this set that featured a gorgeous Gibson guitar and I can't help but have a flashback to the days where my brother was teaching me how to play the solo for Patience by Guns 'n' Roses on his guitar. He will point out every Les Paul Gibson guitars that Slash used during the Use Your Illusion (I and II) tour videos.

My brother was obsessed with it and he was determined to buy his very own Gibson Les Paul. He still hasn't owned one.. because I guess he can't imagine spending so much on a guitar, maybe? I'm not sure. I'll ask him why he hasn't bought one.

Anyways, when I saw this Gibson guitar on Polyvore, I'm feeling inspired to do a Use Your Illusion set. Pretty cool, huh?

Dream Of Being A Celebrity Stylist?

I'm sure by now, most of you know how much I enjoy creating sets for Polyvore, right? For those of you who don't know what Polyvore is, well, it's just a site that allows you to channel your creativity into creating artwork, interior design or fashion sets using the items provided for you. All you have to do is start from a blank canvas, then start creating!

Personally, creating artwork, is not my strong suit. I'm more interested in creating fashion sets, which I've shown here in my previous posts a couple of times before. Most of the time, I'm inspired by celebrity fashion and try to re-create a set as close to it as possible!

Here are a couple of examples that I've made:

Most of the time, I enjoy choosing my favorite celebrities as muses and pick and choose from the array of gorgeous clothes what I think my favorite celebrity would wear. Basically, it's playing stylist to your favorite celebrity. After all, there are many celeb styles that we're just iffy about and should be fined by the fashion police.

From designer goods at Net-A-Porter to affordable Forever21, there are so many brands and stores to choose from when creating your fashion set. So if being a celebrity fashion stylist has been your dream since you were a little girl watching Cyndi Lauper's crazy getup in the "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" music video, then you should try your hand at this.

Besides, the community at Polyvore are very supportive and they're very friendly which makes it all even more fun. If you're insecure about your fashion style, getting feedback from other members might even make you even more confident. Not to mention joining contests held by members! You might even win a few.. I never thought I'd win a place in fashion contests, but I did! It's one of my favorite hobbies right now but the only downside is: you get addicted!

MM: In My Head - Jason Derulo

It's Music Monday and I decided to dedicate a song to all my Polyvorettes who have been amazing and fave-ing my sets! Just like that, one of my sets have been faved by over 40 people!

I know it's peanuts to other polyvorettes, but to me, if more than 10 people like my sets, I'm floored and ecstatic!! :D

So for all of you who "faved" this set (as well as my other sets) you guys ROCK!! Especially to Debbs who made me come back to Polyvore and who is also addicted to Polyvore.. thanks so much!! Love you guys!! This is for you! You guys are as awesome and addictive as this current fave song of mine, "In My Head"!!

A New Hobby*

Okay, so maybe I don't have a new hobby, but I'm really new to this and I've only done a few so you can definitely consider me a newbie! malu

And by "this", I mean Polyvore!! It's weird that I've taken up "polyvore-ing" since I truly believe that I don't have the talent or the mind for anything "creative". garupale

My sister, Syura, is the one with all the creativity. Despite the fact that I'm the one in the family that's left-handed. And you guys know what they say about lefties, right? angkatkening You don't? Well, that's what Google is for.

So as I was saying, I'm really having fun with this polyvore, which is actually a site that allows you to create layouts - for fashion or for interior designs. You can check out Syura's blog and on her sidebar, you'll be able to see all her creations. She's been asking me to try it out myself since forever, but as usual, my procrastinator self only took to her advice this year some 2 months ago. ihikhik

But yeah, I believe I am finally harnessing the "leftie creativity" in me. And THAT is absolute COOLNESS! encem

My first creation:

My fave so far:

p/s: If you're on Polyvore, go ahead and add me up!
