Looking for a Good Print Shop in KK

I have a number of things that I want to get printed and looking for a good print shop is not an easy task here in KK. I've sent a couple of documents to get printed before and the colors were so lackluster that I just wasn't happy with the end product. The thing about KK-ians that gets on my nerves, is that when you ask if they can do things the way you want them to, they say, "SURE! NO PROBLEM! I can do it EXACTLY like that!" then when you come by and pick up your order, not only does it fall short of your expectation, it's like a totally different order. And this is not just an isolated case. During my sister's wedding, it happened with almost ALL the vendors! It's crazy!

Anyways, if I didn't have to spend on international shipping, I'll just print my documents online. The online printing services online offer such a great range, you can even print catalogs online.

Anybody in KK can recommend a good printing place, I'll be super thankful!

Getting Antsy

I can't believe I haven't been blogging for more than a month. I used to blog EVERY SINGLE DAY. But I guess those were the days when I wasn't saddled with my own home and three kids. Yet, I wouldn't change what I have now for what I had back then. :)

Anyways, everything on the home front is good. Buddy and Allie are schooling, which leaves the morning free for me and baby Z to do whatever we want. Which usually means, him sleeping and me doing my chores. Lately, though, while doing my chores, I noticed that the house is just full of ants. Big ants, small ants, they're everywhere. It's strange because just last month, we had pest control over to do treatment on the house.

I don't know if this is usually how pest control does their thing, but someone told me that this looks pretty shady. I don't know. I haven't had a lot of "pest control" experience.

For now, I think I have to use phantom bug spray to get rid of those pesky little ants.

How To Scan Without a Scanner

Trying to scan important documents can be so frustrating if you're without a scanner. But as long as you have a digital camera, you're basically home free! In those times of need, just grab your digital camera, snap away, upload and edit/correct the hue, brightness, crop, re-align, etc.

There are also other softwares out there like Snapter that helps automatically crop, stretch, flatten, and process pictures of business cards, documents and whiteboards into more usable forms. It can also correct the perspective, adjust the lighting automatically and even output to PDF file. And according to the review at MakeUseOf.com, it states:

If you are taking snapshots of pages of a book, it can be really difficult to read the text from the raw images. Snapter has the ability to split the pages into two different images and correct the curvature distortion.

It may not be the same as getting Royal Imaging document scanning services done, but it is a great alternative that one should definitely consider!

When Accidents Happen

Accidents that happen to and around us, are most probably due to our own fault yet many accidents that happen these days are due to the negligence of another party.

Just a few weeks ago, an 11-year old child died after he was electrocuted when he accidentally fell and his legs touched an exposed lamp pole at the playground. I don't know whether the parents will be suing the local municipal council for it. It's not in our culture to do that, as it wouldn't bring their darling son back, but someone must pay and learn from it and give something back to the victim's parents. It's just not right. Compensation in any form must be given.

In Malaysia, you don't hear many stories of people suing others that caused them harm even in the slightest. In the U.S. however, you can practically sue people for anything.

In the case of the Depuy lawsuit, a large number of people experienced pain and swelling so severe that a second hip replacement surgery became necessary after getting hip implants by DePuy Orthopedics (a company owned by Johnson & Johnson).

So if you're located in the U.S. and are one of those people suffering from such incidences, and looking for lawyers to represent you in personal injury, the lawyers at O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath are the answer to your prayers. They will be your own Erin Brokovich.

Whatever the case, accidents are what they are. They're unintentional. Yet, when things like this happen, there should be someone who takes responsibility for it. Come to think of it, if I were living in the U.S. with my family, my daughter Allie would probably sue me for causing her to fall and injure her chin. :[

To Reveal Or To Conceal?

I have been actively blogging since late 2006 and I now have 4 different blogs. When I started blogging, the thought of people (especially stangers!) reading my innermost thoughts scared the heck out of me. But then I realized that having a personal blog doesn't mean giving up your privacy and revealing everything to the world.

There are SOME personal things that I share - aspirations, goals, disappointments, and other pointless ramblings (such as this post).. but there are other events that I just keep mum about.
I know (from my own experience), how freaky it is to meet someone you've never met before but that person knows so much about you.

By compiling all your personal stories and stuff, someone can even steal your identity... online or offline. Scary, ain't it? (So just in case, you might want to read up on identity theft protection just to be on the safe side.)

Anyways, my point is, to all my fellow bloggers out there, just be careful with what you write and what you share. You never know who's reading.

The Cutest Cabin Ever

If you've been following and reading my other blog, Never Enough Stuff, you might remember me posting a drawing of how I want my dream home to be. Anyways, I found this pic of a log cabin and it looked like it just came out from an Enid Blyton story!! It's soooo cute.

It might not be my dream home but if money grew on trees, I think I'd like to own something like this.. just for the pleasure of owning a "fairytale" home. I think I'll ask one of my gf who's working in an architecture firm if they can produce architectural drawings for this.

Accountant Vs. Housewife

Back in school, accounting was one of my favorite subjects. Why? Because I felt like doing all those ledgers and all that "bookkeeping" felt like I was counting my own hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Perhaps had I ventured into accounting, probably I would have made it big by making it into the Las Vegas Quickbooks Accounting Firm! How I wish I were attached to that firm (again, that is, if I pursued an accounting career). The guys over at KondlerCPA, is qualified to handle organizations in all industries however they have a vast amount of experience in the following industries; entertainment, casinos, bars and restaurants, internet, high net-worth individuals, contractors, developers, etc..

However, I took a different route instead. Yes, I chose marriage and motherhood and now all the counting and bookkeeping that I'm keeping track of is my household budget and grocery lists. But hey, at least I'm happy, right?? kenyit

Radio Ga-Ga!

I remember when I was little girl and living in the States, every summer, my parents will pack us up and travel the country. My father would drive from state to state, just enjoying the experiences. I remember, though, while we were traveling, my mom would get disappointed when the radio station that she was listening to would go out of range.

Nowadays, with the help of satellite radios, that wouldn't be much of a problem anymore! In the U.S., you can subscribe to Sirius, XM and Worldspace for satellite radio services!

Need A Professional Resume Writer?

I have been a stay-at-home mom for quite some time now. I haven't been in the working force for more than 5 years. I have plans to continue my studies but at the same time, I feel like when both my children are older, I would feel the pull to work and earn more money to help my family out, instead of spending so much money for my studies.

However, right now, even thinking of getting back to work seems so daunting. I can't even remember how to write a professional resume! I don't think I can write my resume without sounding like a blogger, if you know what I mean. I guess I can ask help from my husband who is used to writing executive resumes but I don't think I'm even qualified to look into an executive placement.

If you're having the same problem that I can foresee will happen to me in a couple of years to come, then you might want to hire the help of a professional resume writer to help you secure your dream job! Good luck!
