Shopping at H'n'M??

The very much awaited H&M store has opened in Malaysia in the recent weeks and I still haven't made a visit yet. Apparently waiting for the crowd to die down will probably take another 6 months, maybe? LOL! I was planning to go with my girlfriend on a weekday morning, but I heard it's still JAM PACKED with people. Malaysians... I love you, lah. :) You all so free no need to work, is it?? LOL! So rich can go shopping every morning during the weekdays.. Hahaha

Naahh.. It's to be expected lah, right?

Another H&M store has opened in Setia Mall, Shah Alam (aside from the flagship store at Bukit Bintang) but I'm guessing that it's the same there, too.

However, I heard that there's a 30 day exchange policy because the store knows not everyone can make it to the dressing room and try on their clothes and it gives them ample time to make a trip back to the store. That's nice, I think. But finding a size to exchange to will be another horror, I guess.

I just wanna pop in to the store and get some baby clothes for my newborn niece, Naeema. I will be back for her "full moon" so I hoped to get a couple of things for her before I go back this Sunday. But going on a weekend is my worst nightmare, so that leaves... TODAY. Oh my. See lah first.. hehehe

So cute, right??? And they come cheap. Which I love. :) Have any of you dropped by the store yet? How was it?

Browsing Habit

There are mainly just 3 tabs that I open when I go online nowadays. My e-mail, twitter and my pinterest page. When I'm bored of updates, I normally go browsing online stores and feast my eyes on everything. From clothes, shoes, gadgets, books, children's clothes, and everything else you can imagine. Just now, for some reason, I was browsing ukeleles and guitars and I saw this really cool Charvel electric guitar.

I'm actually thankful that I'm low on funds because if I was dripping with money, I'd already have items being shipped as we speak. Plus, I'm such a compulsive shopper that I'll buy things for everyone. I'd definitely buy Charvel guitars for my brother and my sister in law. They both play and since I never got them a wedding gift, giving them a his and hers would be really cool.

Oh and it's my SIL's birthday today. I would so definitely get her some stuff from ASOS. I'd get ALL my sisters stuff from ASOS. *sigh* Again, I repeat, luckily, I'm not dripping with money. If I were, I'd definitely go dry faster than a puddle in the desert.

Promise Rings

There are two kinds of promise rings. The first being a promise ring which is sort of like a pre-engagement ring. A ring that symbolizes your monogamy and commitment to that one person. Basically a ring that promises you won't cheat.

The other kind of promise ring is the ring all parents would wish their children would wear -- the purity ring. The ring that symbolizes a promise has been made to abstain from sex until marriage. Well, I don't know how well these rings work.. because if you want to cheat, you'll definitely cheat. When Selena Gomez first started out with Bieber, the first thing the paps noticed was that she took off her purity ring. Naughty, naughty!

So where does that leave her promise? In the gutter? Well, if I were to make my version of a promise ring, I'll make the toughest promise of all. Not to cheat on my diets and not skip a workout session. Now THAT's hard! Hahaha!

I went to check out and they really do have some nice promise rings for your loved ones. I think I'll get Allie a purity ring when she gets bigger! hahaha!

The design of the claddagh ring portrays a very meaningful and valuable relationship of love and friendship. The heart is being held by the two hands which could mean to hold and behold dearly; the clasped hands denote friendship, the heart as it is used to denote love and the crown stands for being loyal.

Affordable Solutions for Better Living

Sundays are usually my lazy day.. but since I went out yesterday, looks like today will be my errands day. Laundry to do, cleaning up.. you know the drill.

I'm in the mood for a new makeover for my home actually. I'm thinking new paint and new upholstery for my cushion. The latter is a must! But it's so expensive.. I have a 3-2-1 living room set and I can't possibly re-upholster everything. I don't know if they have chair slipcovers for a whole set.. but if it's cheaper, then why not. Maybe I can search IKEA for something like that. Besides, my son is craving for them Swedish meatballs.

Besides that, I want to get some art for my home.. I saw a framed picture at IKEA the other day I was simply mesmerized with. I'm not very artsy fartsy, but I was really taken with that particular one.

Alright peepz, I'm gonna go make a budget plan for my proposed shopping trip and show it to the husband. I'm so excited!! Doesn't shopping just make you happy??? *swoon*

Time For Christmas Shopping

In the month of December, it's not only Christmas we've got to think about. It's the holiday season... and guess what? A lot of people get married during the holidays. In fact, I have a couple of weddings to attend this coming December.

The good thing about it is, you can take advantage of the Christmas sale and get good bargains for wedding gifts. However, the other side of it is, you have to shop for wedding gifts and Christmas gifts as well.

I don't know about you guys, but buying presents for everyone all at once feels a little bit stressful at the end of the day because you see your cash depleting with good measure. So to rid you of your possible future financial anxiety attack, it's time to start planning what to get for your loved ones now.

I saw some Egyptian Cotton Luxury sheets for sale at the other day and I believe it's the perfect gift for both weddings and Christmas. You can't go wrong with bed linens and you can even have it personalized by having initials monogrammed. The Valentino 1200 Thread Count Egyptian Cotton sheets comes in so many shades (pic above), I wouldn't know which one to pick if I were to get one. Big IF.

I know my mom would love some new bed linens. Remember the time when my mom's bed arrived from KL and we couldn't find super-king sized sheets in KK? Most of the brands just carry up to king size but luxury linens always cater for bigger sized beds.

It may be expensive, but the Black Friday deals are giving discounts between 50%-80%! Awesome price. International shipping may cost a lot though. I wish I can afford it soon because mommy deserves the best.. and it will look sooooooo good on her Thomasville bed..

But that means I have to get one for my sister too. She inherited our old four poster Thomasville bed and it's super king too. -_-"

Say Hello to Cyber Monday!!

Black Friday is perhaps one of the busiest days of the year in every mall. For those of you who are less familiar with this day, Black Friday is the Friday following Thanksgiving Day in the United States, traditionally the beginning of the Christmas shopping season. is not an official holiday, but, as many workers have the day off as part of the Thanksgiving holiday, this increases the number of potential shoppers.

Some of the larger retailers (depending on the location) such as Sears, Best Buy, Macy's, Toys "R" Us, Walmart, and Target have been reported to open as early as midnight on the start of Black Friday in localized areas and remain open for 24 hours throughout the day until midnight the following Saturday. - Wikipedia

However, there were incidents where fatalities occurred due to stampedes during this day.

So for those of you who can't get time off, or just want to avoid the whole crowd, don't worry, because you still have Cyber Monday!

The term Cyber Monday, a neologism invented in 2005 by the National Retail Federation's division, refers to the Monday immediately following Black Friday based on a clear consumer trend that retailers began to recognize in 2003 and 2004. At the time, retailers noticed that many consumers, who were too busy to shop over the Thanksgiving weekend or did not find what they were looking for, shopped online that Monday from home or work to find bargains. - Wikipedia has great bargains right now from the Harry Potter book collection, toys, iPods, laptops and even winter apparel! So make sure you check it out, take advantage of the slashed down prices and free shipping!

This Harry Potter box set has been marked down to $51.38 from the original retail price of $86.93. Free shipping too! Such a steal!! :) So peepz, don't say I didn't remind you to mark your calendars for Cyber Monday!

Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival 2010

The Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival 2010 begins on 1 June 2010 - 30 September 2010! So ladies, have you got your best friends ready?? And by that I don't mean only the living and breathing kind! For my friends like Marzie, her credit cards are also known as her best friends! LOL!

I personally don't have those kinds of best friends -- I know myself pretty well and I doubt I could restrain myself from going swipe, swipe, swipe.. hahaha..

Anyways, some stores usually start their sales a week prior to the Mega Sale Carnival and that includes designer stores like Salvatore Ferragamo, Burberry, Coach, etc.. Department stores like Jusco, Parkson, Debenhams, KL Sogo are also having major sales during this time.. in fact it has started already.

Too bad, though, that the Harvey Norman Clearance Sale is ending today on the 30th of May -- I heard that the mattress sale was up to 90% off!!

Besides discounts and promotions, during the Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival 2005, fashion shows will also be held at major shopping malls. From 6 to 13 August, the public can enjoy a day of entertainment, street party, art shows, and take part in contests and games at Bintang Walk and Berjaya Times Square in Kuala Lumpur.

The Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival is held annually to anchor Kuala Lumpur's position as a leading fashion hub in the world. Since its inception in 1999, the Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival has been a significant contributor to the country's economy by drawing more tourists to visit the country every year.

What A Dim-Wit!

When I first moved in here to KL and went shopping for furniture and such, I was adamant about having an allergen free mattress that protects us from dust mites and bed bugs because the children and I are allergic to dust and the children's skin are very sensitive.

But I just realized, like, TODAY, how silly I was because I didn't get allergy mattress covers for my mattress!! Now what exactly is the point a mattress that is allergy free if my bed covers are not??

I think I'm having an airhead moment.

Furniture Shopping at SSF

So yesterday, I went furniture shopping with one of my besties Ida, and her mom. Since I was such a loser tanduk and never heard of the famous SSF (which is one of - if not the - biggest concept living store in Malaysia), they decided to "deflower" and open my mind to this pretty awesome creative lifestyle store..

I've never been a fan of white rooms (maybe because I have small children around), but I definitely loved what I saw yesterday..

But as I mentioned, I have young children and young children mean sticky hands. So, something similar but a touch of a little rustic feel like this room is more my cup of tea...

If you're a bachelor or a single lady in the city, then maybe the rooms below will appeal more..

If only I was living on a landed property, I'd definitely go crazy looking for some really cool garden pieces.. My mom would love it!

These make for great outdoor furniture!!

So, basically from what I browsed through yesterday, I have definitely decided (one of these days) to spruce my place up by changing my curtains, put some photo frames around and get some gorgeous artificial flower arrangements.

I can't wait to go there again! LOL! For those losers tanduk out there like me wanting to go to SSF, you can contact or check out their store locations at the SSF website.

Victoria's Shack!

The exterior of a RadioShack store in a shoppi...

If I had the money to open up a franchise, I think I'll go for a really cool retail brand like Victoria's Secret or something cool like Radioshack! Yeah, Radioshack would be super cool to open up here! I can see running an outlet here! LOL!

However, franchise opportunities isn't that easy to come by and the MONEY to open up a franchise is waaaaay beyond my wildest dreams. rindu

But who knows, maybe I'll hit the lottery or something, eh?? Can't blame a girl for some wishful thinking....

Snobbitchery Gets You Nowhere

Always Something New

It's been a while since we went shopping in KLCC.. I hardly ever go there but since my mother wanted to go (when she was here 2 weeks ago), we braved through the crowd and made it there. So anyways, my mother wanted to go to Marc Jacobs to check out some handbags and the "retail assistant" a.k.a. salesgirl was just sooooo freakin' snobbish!!

Before my mother was done looking at the bags on display, she was already rearranging them back properly. And when my mom was asking something about the bags, she was giving my mom attitude and was very condescending, as if to say, "Obviously you know nothing about Marc Jacobs bags".

So we left because my mom hates hoity toity stores and Syura decided to go back inside and give her a talk-down. Yeah, she was so embarassed and stunned that she was being called out for her behavior that she looked as if she had speech anxiety or something!! Serves her right!!

I've gotta say that out of all the stores, I think the retail assistants at Jimmy Choo are the bestest!!

To Buy or To Recycle?

About another 3 more weeks of fasting to go! I feel like I just started fasting yesterday. Before we know it, Hari Raya will arrive!! Oh no! I still haven't bought anything to wear for the Raya celebrations. I did mention before that this year I vowed not to recycle from the previous years. My cousin will be getting married on the 4th day of Raya and I need to get me something nice to wear.

While shopping at The Curve with my best friend yesterday, we saw some really nice "baju kurungs" (our traditional costumes) but man, were they pricey!! The ones that we both liked were between RM800-RM1800. And believe me, they weren't even THAT special. It was just pretty simple actually. The prices in almost every store were out of this world! tension

Baju Kurung

I saw a cheaper but really nice one, around RM350 for a set but it was in S size only. sedih I'm sure even if I take an ephedra diet pill during this fasting month, I still won't be able to go down to an S size. nangih

sighOh well, I think I'll just have to go shopping elsewhere.. Probably at PKNS Shah Alam, I'll be able to find cheaper clothes. Although, I'm not sure my hubby would want to be subjected to the crowd there this time of the year.

Getting Cold Feet!

My sis, Syura, and I were talking about our feet the other day.. (yeah, our feet.. we're random like that).. and we came to the conclusion that the porcelain tiles at home is the culprit of us having heel pain. The tiles get cold and in turn make our feet cold and that, in turn, is the root of our problem. gelakguling

Syura did buy us some cute house socks shaped like ballerina flats but I still think that we need some bedroom slippers.

Something like this, perhaps?? I looove the colors!

No Shopping For Me..

The Malaysia Mega Sale is happening right now.. anyone noticed? Well, to be honest, I haven't even checked out any stores. At all. I think the last time I bought anything was a couple of days before my birthday. Even that, it wasn't like SHOPPING shopping. I just bought a couple of tops and 2 pairs of shoes. And since then.. NADA.

Well, we've only got until end of this month where you can get good brands at wholesale clothing prices. Choices won't be even that great anymore.

My 2 favorite 4 letter words right now -- SHOP and FOOD -- are becoming pretty scarce right now. Gotta save the money for a vacay and work out more to look good for my vacay! rindu

Till then, I'll just leave you guys to do the shopping.
