Someone Like Seri

I've been scouring my family's photo albums, the ones online (Facebook and Instagram) for pictures from my sister's wedding last March. Apparently everyone is just too lazy to upload the pics. I have pics in my DSLR but since I don't have a laptop right now, I couldn't upload them yet. But my family.. well, they have NO excuse!

I just want to find a picture of my kid sister karaoke-ing her a$$ off to Adele's Someone Like You and Rolling in the Deep. LOL! It was classic! Thank goodness she didn't use a cloudlifter at musician's friend to use on her microphone. She certainly does not need an additional 25dB. The neighbours would have sued. Hehehe. Sorry Seri! :) But I have to give her props for singing like she just doesn't care! Hahahah that's what I call bravery!!

Although I couldn't find my sister's karaoke debacle picture, I did find a photo of my sister, the bride, that I love. Thanks to my cousin, Azrie (TanganSeni) for taking this pic! :)

Ain't Love The Sweetest Thing?

Okay.. so this is really really way overdue!

Most of my friends on Facebook or on Twitter have seen this wedding video of my brother and my sister-in-law's solemnization ceremony. However, some have said they had trouble being able to view it on Facebook and YouTube. So for those of you who haven't/couldn't watch it, well here it is. :) The wedding solemnization or nikah ceremony as we Malays call it, was held at the bride's place on 17th March 2011.

So here in the video, you'll get to see both parties getting ready at home before the groom (my older brother) goes over to the bride's house which is less than a 10-min drive away. :) This Music Monday is a little different, because there are 2 songs in 1 video.. and it's a personal video too. Enjoy!

Tadzief and Dahlia Nikah Video from shemah sham on Vimeo.

The song in this video is "The Sweetest Thing by U2" and "Cintakan Membawamu Kembali" sung by Mike Mohede, winner of Indonesian Idol. The song is originally by Indonesian band, Dewa 19. The ironic thing is, the song "Cintakan Membawamu Kembali" is their song. They wanted to play the instrumental version throughout the wedding but chose not to. They never mentioned this song to the videographer and somehow he included it in the final cut of the video! :)

When things are meant to be.. they're meant to be! :) FYI, the videography was done by videographer, Andy Chin of DeeBee Studios from Kota Kinabalu. :)

For those of you, my readers from all over the world, who have never attended a Malay wedding, this is a peek of what a Malay solemnization ceremony looks like.

To my brother, Tadzief and my sister-in-law, Dahlia.. I love you guys! :)

p/s: Can you spot yours truly?? :P

Reliving The Royal Wedding - The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge

Warning: Long post ahead with plenty of images.

Yes, I am aware that many of you out there are sick of The Royal Wedding. I, on the other hand, simply can't get enough. I watched the live coverage and it was gorgeous! Just for good measure, I'm watching the repeat of the wedding now as soon as the live coverage finished. The Royal Wedding back-to-back! Oh yeah, baby! hahaha! I know I will forever remember this wedding like my mother forever remembers the wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Di.

Dear haters, if you're not impressed, you don't get the hoopla, you see that exit button on the right hand top corner? Go ahead and click it!

So, now we've got rid of those haters, here we go! Prince William and his bride, Catherine Elizabeth Middleton or commonly known as Kate Middleton were wed in an amazingly beautiful ceremony at the iconic Westminster Abbey. The newly titled Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were declared man and wife by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, in front of a congregation of approximately 1,900 guests.

Celebrity guests that attended the royal wedding include:

David and Victoria Beckham
Rowan Atkinson famously known for his character, Mr Bean.

Watch The Royal Wedding: Prince William and Kate Middleton (LIVE)

It's the 29th of April!! :)

I know that a lot of us "normal people" will be anxiously waiting for the live coverage of the Royal Wedding. There are some people who even took the day off work to be able to catch the live coverage. Yet, I know a lot of people who also don't give two hoots about the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Some people just don't get the whole hoopla about this royal wedding. I don't know what's to get. It's Prince William!! He's a prince!! An ACTUAL prince!! LOL! He's the late Princess Diana's shy son that we all loved to see as that 10 year old boy with the shy side glance when he was photographed with his mother. He's the heir to the throne. Prince William will one day be King of England and Kate Middleton will be his Queen.

I think that's rather exciting. It's not like it's a normal celebrity's wedding. Besides, my late grandma was a total "royalist". She loooooooooved everything about the royal family. We grew up listening to stories of the royal family.. until my sister actually thought we were related to them! LOL! My grandmother was pretty "obsessed", I might say. She can recite the whole royal family tree and stuff. From the cousins, to the second cousins to the in-laws. She knew a lot about the Royal Family. To quote my sister, "I hope they have cable in Heaven".

A lot of people have been comparing this wedding to the wedding of the late Prince Charles and Princess Diana but that's just what the media does best and I guess people just can't help but compare. I just think it's gonna be different since Prince Charles is the direct heir to the throne so obviously, it would be a grander and more elaborate affair.. although not by much, I believe. It is said that Kate's wedding dress will only have 10-foot train as compared to Princess Diana's 25-foot train! Which I think was the wedding dress of the century!

I can't wait to see them leaving Westminster Abbey in the carriage that Prince Williams' parents used during their wedding.. that carriage is over 100 years old.. it was made in 1902!

Anyways, for those of you that are interested, you can watch the live coverage on Astro:

CNN (Channel 511): From 2pm
ntv7 (Channel 107): 3.30pm-8.30pm
ITV Granada (Channel 735): From 3.30pm
E! Entertainment (Channel 712): 4pm-9pm
BBC News (Channel 512): From 4.30pm
TLC (Channel 707): 5pm-10pm

Or for those who have HyppTv, you can watch it on BBC Knowledge from 3pm-8pm. (All times are based on Malaysian time)!

For those who want to watch it online, you might try LiveStream or! Enjoy!! I know I definitely will!! :)

Do I Hear Wedding Bells?

Last night I dreamt that I was being fitted into a bridesmaids dress while my husband had to be fitted for a men's tuxedo! So anyways, I woke up super duper excited because of the dream and I'm hoping that this year, I will be a part of one of my family member's or close friend's wedding!!!

Will there be an upcoming wedding this year?? Oh I certainly hope so!! I'm soooo crossing my fingers... and TOES!

Something Old, New, Borrowed and Blue??

My cousin is getting married sometime in September menari , and I absolutely have nothing to wear to the wedding! garupale I haven't even asked my aunt yet what color theme they're using for the reception. I don't know whether I should match the bridal party or not but it would be useful to know.

Since the wedding is going to be around Hari Raya Aidilfitri (on the 4th day), I think we'll be donning traditional wear.. but there might be a night reception where my cousin, the groom, will be changing into his tuxedo shirt..

So.. what to wear?? What to wear??? fikir

Hmmm.. I think I should really focus on getting into shape first, though.. ihikhik

Wedding Woes!!

These past few months, a couple of my friends have informed me that they have married or will be getting married! As excited as I am about them crossing the bridge to marital bliss, I was also bummed out that I wasn't able to attend their wedding due to the distance. Out of all my friends' weddings, I haven't attended ONE SINGLE WEDDING! hah

When I'm in KK, the wedding is in KL. When I'm living in KL, another friend is getting married in KK. It's soooooo frustrating. tensionI just wish I can just drop everything and jet back and forth to attend each and every wedding. Just as long as they don't choose one of those faraway destination weddings! takbole

Riviera Maya

However, I don't blame them if they choose to go for a destination wedding at Riviera Maya in Mexico. The Karisma hotel/resort chain are absolutely spectacular and they cater especially for honeymoon-ing couples complete with their own secluded beach (where you can even go nude if you want to). blur

Anyways, I will hope like all crazy that from now on, I will not miss any other of my friends' weddings! So to my friends, please revolve your wedding plans based on my location okay?? gelakguling

Planning the perfect wedding..

Weddings, weddings and more weddings.. Since alot of people are getting hitched end of the year, I might as well blog about it.

Planning a wedding can be really really stressful. My eldest brother's wedding made my mom give up on hosting a wedding at home ever again.. One thing I know is, when Syura is planning her wedding, just get out of her way!

LOL! No offense, sis! She's a perfectionist when it comes to details. Just the other day, I saw her erasing the same line over and over again, until she was satisfied with her writing. So you can just imaging how perfect she would want her wedding to be. I can imagine how stressed out she'll be. Unless, I can get Colin Cowie to be her wedding planner, that is!

That's why sites like are set up. To get all the expert advice and tips you need so that you can make your wedding plans as stress-free as possible. With this site, you might even pull off wedding of the year without Mr. Cowie's help. :-)

Weddings everywhere!

You know what, Nick, I think what you said is true.. I think there must be some promo packages going on. Everyone has chosen the end of the year to have their wedding. I can guess the reasons, though..
  1. It takes since early of the year to save up and plan.
  2. End of the year means school holidays, i.e. more people can make it to the wedding.
  3. So they can torture their hubbies in the future for Christmas AND Anniversary presents as well.. LOL!
Carol is acting as wedding planner to her brother's wedding, right?? Now, THAT'S a major undertaking.. I don't think I could ever cope with the task of planning someone's wedding. Anyways, I just wanted to share with you couples out there planning to get hitched (Iylia, you need to check this out!) and also to those wedding planners, you guys can check out these awesome unique personalized wedding favors to give away.

If you think of having a change from giving your guests "sweets in a box" and SUCH AS.. (hahaha!), you can check out the site to get some more ideas for your wedding.

At least, even if I am confined at home, I can still chip in and help you guys (especially you, Iylia) on your wedding. All the best and good luck!!

Crazy about weddings!

I have finally found the ultimate Internet Wedding Superstore!! Not that I really need any of it.. but a few friends are getting married this year and the next and they can so totally benefit from this! They have everything that you need for the reception, apparel, attendant gifts, cheap wedding favors, ceremony, etc!

What I would love to see at any wedding in the future that I go to, will be the Instant Digital Photo Guestbook. Now that would be really cool! And also, for those who have tattoos and would like to "cover it up" a little, there's a Tattoo Cover Up kit that you can get too!

Even if you're not having a wedding just yet, you can get your wedding planning materials, such as books and magazines too. Anyone out for a "look see", can head on to for more drool worthy items!
